A Holiday Message From The Grand Polemarch
The Season of Advent and the weeks immediately preceding and following December, are special times of the year. From our earliest, often self-centered memory and concept of the holidays as children, to our refreshingly new understanding and appreciation of the holiday season as adults, seldom does a day pass during the months of November, December and January that is not truly remarkable in the way it compels our “better angels” to engage in things which are truly altruistic in nature.
In November, we remember the Veterans of our Armed Services who bravely served and defended this country in war time and peace—helping to preserve the freedoms that we sometimes take for granted. And we always pause at some time during the month to give “thanks” for the bountiful blessings of freedom and prosperity that we enjoy in this country, and then satisfy our inclinations to help others in our midst, who are less fortunate than we are.
In December, we reflect on the Christian principles our Founders espoused, and take comfort in our relationship to a GOD who is good, who is All-POWERFUL, and who blesses us daily with his mercy and grace. And we reflect on the birth of Jesus and how he walked among us and saved us from eternal damnation.
In January, we celebrate the New Year, our Founding as a Fraternity, and anticipate all the things we must do, and the challenges we must overcome in response to our Call to Service.
It is my wish that each of you will have special times and special days this Holiday season. I consider each of you as a special gift to Kappa and me, and I am blessed to work with such a talented, intelligent, caring and capable group of men.
Please make some wonderful memories with your friends and families during the remainder of December and in January, and please know how much each of you means to me.
May GOD bless you and your families, and Kappa Alpha Psi. One KAPPA!
