A Message From The Grand Polemarch…

The start of a new fraternal year brings about excitement. Your elected, paid and volunteer leaders believe that the collective efforts of our members have made Kappa better for each of us. Working as one entity we have encouraged our membership to invite upon the fraternity opportunity for greater stability, operational interdependence, and better communications.

A glimpse of a few things that have allowed Kappa to tell her own story included:

1. An appearance on CSPAN;
2. An appearance on The CBS Early Show;
3. National recognition in Jet and Ebony Magazines;
4. A new format for our National Reclamation Drives;
5. A national theme utilized at every level of the fraternity;
6. Recognition on ABC’s Extreme Makeover-Home Edition;
7. Panel participation at the 2007 and 2008 CBC Weekends;
8. National recognition by St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital;
9. National Programs replicated at every level of the fraternity; and,
10. The Listening Tour Initiative (An effort to visit every chapter in Kappa).

This year we will introduce the K-100 Executive Leadership Organization, present a new health initiative, plan an outstanding National Founders’ Day, execute upon the greatest Conclave to date, completed our pledge regarding the “Sunday of Hope,” and, expose our collegiate members to leadership opportunities through the GLAD Program, among other things.

The start of a new year brings about excitement. Remember, the “100 Anniversary” of our founding is a few months away. Join the Grand Board and say to every member of the fraternity, “One Kappa, Creating Inspiration: A Call to Service.”
