Chapter Invisible: Bro. Melvin D. Twitty

Brother Melvin Twitty of Portsmouth/Suffolk VA Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. passed away early Wednesday morning. Brother Melvin Twitty was a charter member of the Portsmouth-Suffolk Alumni chapter. Please keep the Twitty family and the brothers of Portsmouth-Suffolk Alumni in your prayers.

1. The wake will be Sunday at Community United Presbyterian Church, 801 Tazewell St, Portsmouth, VA. 23701. The public wake is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM, that should give us ample time to have the Memorial Service.

2. There will be a Memorial Service (CLOSED) for Melvin at Community Presbyterian Church Sunday (9/13/09) at 3:30 PM. Brothers are asked to be at the church by 3:15. Dress will be dark suits and tie. Brothers, we have to start the Memorial Service on time, we don’t want to hold up public service. Please bring your Bibles, you will need them during the Memorial Service.

3. The Homegoing services for Melvin will be at 1:00 PM on Monday at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2714 Frederick Blvd., Portsmouth, VA. 23704. The Brothers are asked to wear Red Blazer(Jacket), Kappa tie, black socks, pants and shoes for the Homegoing Services on Monday. If we have any chance of setting together, we need to be at the Church by 12:30 on Monday. Melvin was well known and the turnout for His Homegoing service is expected to be large. The repast will be at Community Presbyterian Church after the interment.

4. The Memorial Service and Public Wake will be Sunday September 13, 2009. The Homegoing Service is Monday September 14, 2009.
