Kappa Scholarship Endowment Fund, Inc. Gives $116,000 in Scholarships to Area Seniors

On Monday, June 2, 2008 the Kappa Scholarship Endowment Fund, Inc. (KSEF) presented scholarship awards to DC High and Charter School graduating seniors. The awards presentation was hosted, for the seventh year, by the American Federation of Teachers at its headquarters, 555 New Jersey Avenue, NW; Washington, DC.
This year awards were given to 29 students, each receiving a 4-year $1000 scholarship, for total of $116,000. Since its founding in 1984 KSEF has awarded 414 scholarships for a total of $856,000. This is the second year that KSEF has awarded more than $100,000 and hopes to sustain this level with its endowment now over $2,000,000.
On Sunday November 2, 2008 KSEF will conduct its 25th Annual Celebrity Auction and Soul Food Feast at the Armour J. Blackburn Center on the campus of Howard University, Washington, DC.
KSEF is currently a member of the United Way of the National Capitol Area and the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The United Way Code is 8932 and the CFC code is 50812.
