John T. Henderson, Jr.
John T. Henderson, Jr., has been a principal member of the law firm of Craig & Henderson, L.L.C, since August, 1994. He is a member of the bar of Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the Maryland and District of Columbia Federal Courts. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association. And the Montgomery County Bar Association.
Attorney Henderson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1982, and law degree from Howard University School of Law in 1985. He was a partner with Fair & Henderson, and a sole practitioner both in the District of Columbia. Mr. Henderson practices law in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death medical malpractice, divorce and criminal defense. He also provides corporate and business counsel to diverse companies located throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland and nationally. He is called upon on a regular basis by foreign state governments and out of state clients to serve as local counsel. He is an accomplished trial attorney initiating and bringing to verdict many civil jury trials with favorable results on behalf of his clients.
Attorney Henderson is the two term past Chairperson of the Montgomery County Committee for Ethnic Affairs, Montgomery County, Maryland. He also is serving his sixth term as president of Westfarm Homeowner’s Association. Mr. Henderson is vice-chairman, Board of Directors for Global Developmental Services for Youth, Inc., a youth mentoring organization located in Prince George’s County, Maryland He has been a member of Global since February, 1999, when he became a volunteer instructor for Serudj, Global’s 6 week juvenile crime intervention mentoring course for children of Prince George’s County, Maryland. In March, 2004, Attorney Henderson traveled with Global to Nairobi, Kenya to meet with the President of Kenya and other government officials for the purpose of promoting Global specifically and business opportunities within Prince George’s County, Maryland generally.
Attorney Henderson was initiated into the fraternity on March 16, 1979, at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, the Gamma Sigma (Southwestern Province) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He served as Polemarch at Gamma Sigma as well as Polemarch of the Theta Tau (intermediate) Chapter at Howard University School of Law. He became a life member of the fraternity in 1986.
Currently, Attorney Henderson is a member of the Silver Spring (Md) Alumni Chapter, having served 6 years as a member of its board of directors, 2 years as its vice-polemarch, and 4 years as a board member and secretary to its charitable foundation, MKYF, Inc.
