Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. to Pay Tribute to Kappa Veterans During Grand Chapter Meeting

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. to Pay Tribute to Kappa Veterans During Grand Chapter Meeting in Washington, DC.

(Philadelphia, PA) – November 11th, 2008 – Dwayne M. Murray, the 31st Grand Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. released details of the planning for the 79th Grand Chapter Meeting by announcing on Veteran’s Day that the fraternity will give special recognition and honor to all the Brothers who wore the uniform of the United States Military during the national meeting.

“I come from a military family.  My father was a veteran of the United States Army.  My wife’s father was a career military man.  I know first hand the sacrifices our military men and women make in protecting the freedom we cherish,” Grand Polemarch Murray said in discussing the tribute.

According to Brother David Hardick, co-chairman of the Grand Chapter Local Planning Committee, the tribute will focus primarily on our Veteran Brothers who have reached “That Golden Shore” and are interned at Arlington National Cemetery.  “We are working diligently to ensure that this occasion can actually be marked at Arlington National Cemetery,” Brother Hardrick said, “We think this will be a highlight of the Grand Chapter meeting and be an emotional and lasting memory for those Kappa Veterans who attend.”

Brother Murray also noted the significance of releasing the news during a time of Veteran tribute to all U.S. Veterans.  “I recently visited Fort Bragg Military Base in North Carolina, and met with several Kappa men in the Special Forces.  Hearing their stories and recognizing their dedication to this nation I believe that love of country is universal --political party affiliations do not matter; being from a red state or a blue state does not matter— We should all pause to recognize and show our gratitude to America’s greatest heroes.”

To ensure that every Brother receives proper recognition, the Grand Chapter Planning Committee is asking every chapter to submit the names of Brothers buried at Arlington to David Hardrick .  Please provide the following:
